<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">Yogas' story has many places of darkness and uncertainty due to its oral transmission of sacred texts and the mysterious nature of its teachings. The early writings about yoga were transcribed to fragile palm leaves, which were easily damaged, destroyed, or lost. The development of yoga can be traced back over 5000 years ago, but some researchers think that yoga can be up to 10,000 years old. The history of Yoga can be divided into four main periods of innovation, practice, and development.

History of Yoga

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">The beginnings of Yoga were developed by the Indus Sarasvati civilization in North India over 5,000 years ago. The word yoga was first mentioned in the oldest sacred texts, the Rig Veda. The Vedas were a collection of texts with songs, mantras, and rituals used by Brahmans, the Vedic priests. Yoga was slowly refined and developed by the Brahmans and Rishis (mystical visionaries) who documented their practices and beliefs in the Upanishads, a huge book with over 200 writings. The most famous of the Yogic scriptures is the Bhagavad-Gîtâ, composed around 500 BC. The Upanishads took the idea of the ritual sacrifice from the Vedas and remembers them and taught the sacrifice of the ego through self-knowledge, action (karma yoga), and wisdom (jnana yoga).-History of Yoga.

You May Also Like

7 Simple Yoga Poses For Glowing Skin

Yoga Nidra For Sleep

Power Yoga For Weight Loss

Top 5 Yoga Poses For Concentration

Top 6 Yoga Asanas To Cure Asthama

What is Kundalini Yoga

Secrets Of Yoga

Easy Exercise To Increase Breast Size

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">In the pre-classical History of Yoga stage, yoga was a mixture of different ideas, beliefs, and techniques, often contradicting and contradicting each other. The classical period is defined by Patanjali's Yoga-Sutras, the first systematic representation of yoga. A journal written in the second century, this text describes the path of raja yoga, which is often referred to as "classical yoga". Patanjali organized the practice of yoga into an "eight-curved path" that contained the steps and stages for attaining samadhi or enlightenment. Patanjali is often referred to as the father of yoga and his Yoga-Sutras still strongly affect most types of modern yoga.

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">Post-Classic <span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">History of yoga

They rejected the teachings of the ancient Vedas and embraced the physical body as a means of enlightenment. They developed tantra yoga, using radical techniques to cleanse the mind and body, to break the knots that bind us to our physical existence. This exploration of these physical-spiritual connections and body-centered practices has led to the creation of what we think of yoga in the West: Hatha Yoga.

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">Modern times <span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">History of yoga

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">In the late 1800s and early 1900s, the Yogamaster began to travel to the West and met attention and followers. This began at the 1893 Parliament of Religions in Chicago when Swami Vivekananda inspired the participants with his lectures on yoga and the universality of world religions. In the 1920s and 30s Hatha Yoga was strongly promoted in India with the work of T. Krishnamacharya, Swami Sivananda, and other Yogis practicing Hatha Yoga. Krishnamacharya opened the first Hatha Yoga school in Mysore in 1924, and in 1936 Sivananda founded the Divine Life Society on the banks of the Sacred Ganges. Krishnamacharya produced three students who would continue his legacy and increase the popularity of Hatha Yoga: B.K.S. Iyengar, T.K.V. Desikachar, and Pattabhi Jois. Sivananda was a prolific author who wrote over 200 books on yoga and set up nine ashrams and numerous yoga centers around the world.
<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">The importation of yoga into the West continued even further until Indra Devi opened her yoga studio in Hollywood in 1947. Since then, many Western and Indian teachers have become pioneers who popularize Hatha Yoga and win millions of followers. Hatha Yoga now has many different schools or styles, all emphasizing the many different aspects of the practice.

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="font-family: arial;">What Is The Secret Of Yoga? | Yoga Secrets |Six Elements Of Yoga

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">Much of the hatha yoga styles as they exist in the West are beautiful hybridizations of traditional Indian yoga, the wishes of pro-active individuals in Western society who need the approach of practice to be directed more towards the body.

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">
From the point of view of the Siddhar Sabbaths that embrace yoga in its entirety (both physical and spiritual aspects of yoga), the yogic journey is about being released as Spirit, and then understanding that the body should be properly respected and cared for As it is A sanctuary of the divinity of Being. With the liberation of the mind and body to the Spirit comes the understanding of the body as a sanctuary and the mind as a tool of consciousness, and thus the inner journey of philosophy and wisdom Yogic is developed every day with our own enriching experiences.

[By yoga we refer to yoga 'hatha' practiced in the West - the physical postures and the inner journey through this form of yoga as in sequences of postures. Siddharan wisdom is potent when applied to hatha yoga practice as the body is an effective tool for working the mind towards the inner core of realization. Tapasyogi Nandhi offers the yogic knowledge of the mystical Kalangi Kundalini Yoga as practiced by the Siddhar sages of southern India]

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="font-family: arial;">1. Yoga and the five elements:

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="font-family: arial;">

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">One of the fundamental principles of hatha yoga is the realization of the immensity of our awakened Spirit and the state of the human being as sanctuary of that Spirit. The yogi understands the human body as an individual site containing the entire universe and Mother Earth. This "Mercy" is contained in the five elements: the earth; Water / flow; fire; Air and empty space. When the yogi understands that the energy of the Source is present in the five elements and begins to reach the domain of each element - the path towards the union of the human being and the Source has begun.
So in our daily practice of yoga, understanding our inner journey through the elements with consciousness opens the way to the domain of wholeness. The elements are: the body as an element of the earth; Our thoughts as the element of water; Our internal physiological functions (the energies that help with digestion, breathing, etc. activities leading to kundalini fire) as the elements of fire; The breath and breathless kingdom the element of air; And the final destination - infinite empty space of growing consciousness.

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="font-family: arial;">2. Nude Yoga (only when circumstances allow)

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="font-family: arial;">

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">Why? While the word 'naked' provokes extreme reactions in the minds of most people, for a yogi, wearing minimal clothing allows one to use all the infinite sky as clothing. Digambara, which means the garment of heaven, is another name for Lord Siva. Practicing yoga in the nude allows us to more easily integrate the five elements into the body and our being.

The yogic way shows that through grace and learning comes the ability to break free of the limits that the mind imposes on the body and climb above the extreme states; Cold or chilling heat, the desire to eat and sleep. The concept of 'tumo', the internal fire that produces heat for the body, is vital as an important aspect of our yogic journey. By doing naked yoga we integrate the element of infinite space; Air through the breath and our breathing beyond the wisdom of the breath The inner fires and our body sanctuary representing Mother Earth.

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="font-family: arial;">Ways to incorporate this into your practice include:

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="font-family: arial;">

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">- Open your window or door to keep the outside air flowing inside so better connect with the air element.

- Be aware of the temperature (hot or cold) and work to take advantage of that awareness so that the inner fire is not affected by outside time.
- Allowing the consciousness to go beyond the mind to connect with the infinite nature of the sky. Realizing that we are infinite beings through practice is an aspect of the rich human experience.
<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="font-family: arial;">3. The power within each posture / Sthira

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="font-family: arial;">

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">Within each posture is the trigger of vital energies lit through the breath. The Master Himalayan (from the Autobiography of a Yogi: for those who have not read this wonderful book, a life-changing reading, awaits!) Mahavatar Babaji's teachings of mystical kriya yoga establish "sthira" as a very Vital of practice. Sthira is the achievement of calm, tranquility, harmony of breathless breath in a posture. In each posture, immerse yourself in this quiet space using the breath of sthira and expand the Being. Sthira is the attainment of happiness and joy by the breath of being without breath. A yoga session without the use of "AUM" is nothing more than a glorified gymnastics, since we are not including the greatness of our association with Source. In the breath of sthira is the realization of the eternal 'AUM' that makes us aware of our infinite being, one with the Source.

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="font-family: arial;">4. Jump / Dance / Run Yogic Path

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="font-family: arial;">

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">Yoga originated in the desert of caves and mountains, practiced by the sages. Every day they walked, climbing mountains and hills. Most of the temples and shrines in India lie above hills and hills to facilitate such pilgrimages. His daily practice of hatha yoga complemented his walk while his diet was minimal.

In our society we consume far more calories than necessary. We are exposed to enormous explosions of stress in the modern world. We live without the need to walk on a daily basis. To make our yoga practice more effective, this environment needs to be transcended by including other physical exercise in our daily routines, such as jumping, dancing, running, cycling, etc. All the extra physical activity that gives rise to joy!

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="font-family: arial;">5. Do yoga daily

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="font-family: arial;">

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">Use a yoga studio as you would with a cane. Yoga studies should be thought of as places where we can expand our knowledge and learn sequences of asanas, but this should not take precedence over our daily practice of yoga. A daily yoga practice is important for the daily continuation of the individual inner journey in your practice, learning, wisdom and experiences.

There is a deeper wisdom of the yogic perception of time. When we make sure that we have our own daily practice that is not based on anyone else or any circumstance (such as a yoga studio), we begin to walk in realign the 24 hours even though the experience of entering the yoga gift has to Offer timelessness. Doing yoga is a powerful form of worship and a journey towards timelessness. When we enter into timelessness only once a day through yoga, we reflect life as if we were the sun.

Another key benefit of having our own daily yoga practice is to awaken ourselves to be the greatest teacher and most deserving student. When we learn from a yoga teacher, then we are able to incorporate all the golden nuggets of wisdom into our daily practice.
<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="font-family: arial;">6. Yoga is Tantra

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="font-family: arial;">

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">Tantra comes from the pre-Vedic teachings of South India, the Dravidians. The worship of Lord Shiva and the Goddess Sakti and the yogic teachings within her were called "Tantiram," the roots of Tantra. Tantiram is to unite the Source with our human reality through the wisdom of joy. The wisdom of Tantiram teaches that the roots, the muladhara, have all the power on our path to realization and the journey through consciousness after awakening. The root chakra has the key to the inner journey.

When we follow the yogic path we begin to see the many layers of our reality, like an onion, starting from the roots all the way to the crown. Tantiram, the core of tantra, is the experience of orgasmic happiness within each and every layer of reality that we can improve through our daily yoga. When we awaken to the totality of yoga, we transform our primitive energies of sex, sensuality, and the instinct of survival into evolving powerful angular thoughts of manifestation. Our daily practice of yoga can be a tool that helps us to transform and evolve through the totality of integrity, tantiram.
Most of the teachings of hatha yoga involve having to invoke the root chakra to awaken and work with Mother Kundalini. When we travel inwardly, we know Mother Kundalini as another state of consciousness and through this consciousness we travel the inner fire awakening each chakra that contains the secrets of each stratified reality as in its manifestations through harmony, abundance and divine grace.

This totality is the union with the Source containing the nature of bliss and the understanding of the "I Am" experience as in the audacious statement, "I Am God." Lord Siva as experience is "Satchidananda" - the experience of the now as in being the form of happiness.
<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="font-family: arial;">How to do a perfect Yoga Nidra:

<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">1. Lie straight on your back in the corpse pose (Shavasana). Close your eyes and relax. Take a few deep breaths in and out. Do not forget to take slow, relaxed breaths, and not ujjayi breaths.
<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">Note that Yoga Nidra is not a "conscious effort" but a "conscious relaxation".
<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">
<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">For example, when you hear the word "apple", its image flashes instantly in your mind. You do not need to put an effort to think whether it's small or large, red or green. The same thing happens during yoga nidra.
<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">
<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">You do not need to "concentrate" or "focus" on what a leg is, or touch your nose. You also do not need to physically move these parts of the body. You only need to gently take your attention on them, while taking deep breaths. The trick in yoga nidra is to: relax with consciousness, stay effortlessly and consciously relax the body and mind. -<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">yoga nidra sleep
<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif">
However, when Yogi Bhajan brought Kundalini Yoga and Meditation to the West in 1968, he brought in an ancient technology whose origins were lost in the clouds of time, a mature technology that had been sharpened and refined in secret, over innumerable generations of teachers and In the temples and monasteries of northern India, Tibet and Nepal, to the level where it is now the most powerful and inclusive of all yogas. Yogi Bhajan firmly believed that everyone should have the opportunity to participate and enjoy their incredible benefits.

Guru Rattan, Ph.D., an avid student of Yogi Bhajan, was encouraged by him to publish collections of his earliest and, many would say, the greatest teachings. Working from class notes and with her fellow student and talented illustrator Ann Marie Maxwell, she produced collections of these teachings organized by real-life themes. His books Transitions to a Heart-Centered World (now reissued in a new, enlarged, second edition), Relax and Renew, Sexuality and Spirituality and the Introduction to Kundalini Yoga have remained best sellers throughout the world to this day. Guru Rattana continues to work on expanding and sharing, writing and video, which she believes is the essence of her teachings. Guru Rattana Online is our video subscription service, suitable for both beginners and students at all levels of practice.

The Kundalini consists of a reservoir of unexploded vital energy or prana that resides at the base of the spine, often symbolized as a spiral serpent or snake, which is latent in most people. Through the practice of Kundalini Yoga this source can be activated and elaborated through the body, energizing each of the seven energy centers or chakras.

During this process, blockages and resistances are overcome, and their energy is raised to higher frequencies, opening their consciousness to expanded realities. The goal is to create a conscious connection with the divine, a union between physical reality and divine consciousness, universal energies and soul, finite and infinite, which can be achieved when this energy reaches the crown chakra at the top of the head.
An Integrated and Cohesive System

Kundalini Yoga is dynamic in its practice, vast in practical information and powerful in its experience. It incorporates the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of yoga into a cohesive and integrated system. It has a much broader emphasis on breathing, meditation, positions of hands or mudras, singing or mantra, and spirituality.

It is based on kriyas, or sets of specially formulated exercises, not just mechanical poses, and the benefits of kriyas are considerably greater than doing random postures - it is much more precise and allows you to target specific benefits and work exactly in those aspects of yourself than They need work at the present time. Some of the sequences can be very intense and physically demanding. However, there are many less demanding but equally effective exercises, suitable for both beginners and others who, for reasons of physiology, age or disability, may need to follow a more moderate and less intense form of practice.

It is the ideal form of yoga for people who want an immediate effect feel good and also the long term benefits of enjoying a relaxed and lifted consciousness. It is safe and effective and can be practiced by almost anyone, no matter their age, physical condition, occupation and experience. Regular practice can greatly reduce time to spiritual awakening.
Regular practice and its rewards

Practice can be addictive - once the effects and benefits are experienced, then the student wants more, so practice becomes largely self-sustaining. The key is to do it gradually, listen to your body, stop when I tell you, but above all, persevere. The student of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation soon becomes expert in perceiving the movement of energy inside and outside his body, and with this consciousness he consciously begins to direct and optimize his flow.

Many new students report immediate benefits - some find they have a more comfortable back and back - some feel more relaxed and better able to handle stress - some find that they have a more positive sense of self and well being. Some report the three and more. The rewards of regular practice can be profound: the mind, body, emotions and spirit are positively affected and elevated. Kundalini Yoga is not a religion, but provides a firm foundation for a spiritual life, regardless of religion, if there is one, you can choose to practice.
